Do you have a “stubborn” area that just doesn’t seem to respond to your workouts and healthy diet? If so, you may be a good candidate for truSculpt® 3D body sculpting. This cutting-edge technology is a noninvasive method of destroying fat cells and reshaping your body, and it’s available at West Coast Aesthetics and Veins.
How truSculpt 3D is different
Body sculpting isn’t new; liposuction has been widely available since the 1980s, and cool temperature methods of fat reduction are currently popular. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that requires several days to heal, and a few weeks to fully recover. Cool temperature methods, as you might expect from the name, destroy fat cells by freezing them.
TruSculpt 3D uses a technology called monopolar radio frequency (RF), which uses targeted heat to destroy the fat cells. Dr. Suri uses a handheld wand that transmits radio signals through your skin to the targeted fat deposit. The radio signal heats the fat cells, causing them to shrink.
In addition to destroying fat cells, a truSculpt 3D treatment tightens the skin in the target area. It’s the only noninvasive fat reduction method that results in a slimmer profile along with tightened skin.
What to expect before a truSculpt 3D treatment
During your consultation, Dr. Suri assesses whether you’re a good candidate for truSculpt 3D based on your medical history as well as your goals. Generally speaking, truSculpt 3D works best if you have a relatively small area you’d like treated, such as your love handles or flanks.
It’s important to have a clear goal and an understanding of what you can reasonably expect. You may need more than one treatment to reach your goal. Dr. Suri creates a plan based on your specific situation, history, and desired results.
What to expect during a truSculpt 3D treatment
During the actual treatment, you feel the wand on the target area and a slight heat. Individual tolerances vary, but you’re most likely to feel a slight discomfort. However, if it’s intolerable, the settings on the machine can be adjusted.
Dr. Suri glides the wand across the treatment area. Treatments can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved truSculpt 3D for circumferential reduction of the abdomen — removing fat from your waistline — and for treating the flanks. It’s safe for Dr. Suri to treat other areas of the body with truSculpt 3D as well, and the larger the area, the longer the treatment time.
What to expect after a truSculpt 3D treatment
You won’t see a dramatic difference right away, but you also won’t need any time to recover. You can immediately return to your normal, day-to-day activities.
After the treatment is over, your body’s natural processes will remove the destroyed fat cells through your lymphatic system. Because it can take some time for the fat cells to be completely broken down and removed, the results of a truSculpt 3D treatment aren’t immediately apparent. Most people begin seeing a clear difference after six to eight weeks, with continuing improvement for about three months.
Some people opt to have a second treatment, but whether you do or not depends on your desired results. Dr. Suri consults with each patient individually to provide a treatment plan aligned with your individual goals.
